Why the strain lands on your team before your numbers

Employee Experience:
A room that stays honest under pressure

The Silence of the System

“82% of ANZ leaders gather customer feedback. Only 23% have a clear process to act on it. The listening happens. The closing does not.”
The Silence of the System, Good CX in partnership with Half Time Orange

We ran this research ourselves. Between October 2025 and March 2026 we asked 123 senior leaders across Australia and New Zealand where the signal between employees and customers actually breaks. The answer sits under everything else on this page. There is a state your business is in, and it decides whether feedback becomes action. When that state hardens, the signal stops travelling.

The evidence. Two shorter reads that unpack the ideas behind the research paper:

  • The Heffalump in your boardroomWhen your team stops raising the hard things. A read on psychological safety and the workplace nervous system, told through Christopher Robin Milne’s original stuffed animals.
  • Polish the silver. Hear the signal. Put the suit on.When you have outgrown the job but have not yet stepped into the next version. A read on what Will Guidara’s Unreasonable Hospitality asks of scaling leaders.

A first conversation

A diagnostic that names the silence

This is an opportunity, not a repair job. When your team has the capacity to think, your customers feel it and your numbers follow. If you can see what your team is carrying, come and talk. Especially if you want to design the business so they thrive rather than survive.

The first conversation is on us. We will listen. We will tell you what we hear. And we will tell you honestly whether we are the right partner for what you are building next.

Open spread from The Silence of the System showing that 82 per cent of ANZ leaders gather customer feedback and 23 per cent have a process to act on it
